Safran Engineering Services (SES) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Engineer in new digital services to lead our ambitious initiatives in AI and Automation. Reporting directly to the Technical Director of SES, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in deploying cutting-edge AI and automation technologies across our engineering methodologies and within Safran. This is a strategic position that demands not only technical expertise in data science, generative AI, and RAG but also strong leadership in Agile project management. You should possess a deep interest in aerospace, space, and defense industries, and have proven experience in project initiation and coordination.
In this capacity, you will BE responsible for :
- Defining and driving the AI and Automation strategy in alignment with SES's technical & business roadmaps.
- Framing solutions and convincing the customers.
- Initiating and leading new internal and external projects.
- Fostering Agile methodology across the teams to ensure efficient and incremental project delivery.
- Collecting IT needs to share them with the IT department.
- Facilitating collaboration between international subsidiaries and fostering an integrated AI factory across SES.
- Identifying and develop key skills (e.g., UX, data science, DEVOPS, MLOPS, cloud architecture, AWS).
- Maintaining a strong focus on quality, competitiveness, and adherence to project timelines.
- Promoting SES's role as a leader in AI deployment within Safran and in the broader industry.
Your main activities will include :
- Project inception and scoping (goals, deliverables, metrics).
- Contribution to marketing material, in cooperation with Sales forces.
- Managing of the technical part of the business strategy on digital services.
- Understanding of the final needs and defining of the best digital solution.
- Strategic thinking about the optimized footprint to address the new Digital Services offer.
- Leadership in the design and implementation of AI and automation solutions.
- Support and mentorship to project teams in adopting Agile methodologies.
- Continuous monitoring and management of project progress.
- Development of a comprehensive organizational structure to support AI projects across various SES locations.
As the Chief Engineer of new digital services, you will communicate with stakeholders, ensure transparency, provide reporting and build a network of partners within SES and externally.
You will mainly interact with :
- The SES Technical Director
- Project Managers and Technical Leads within SES
- Sales forces
- IT teams
- SES customers (internal and external)
- International subsidiaries and their technical teams
- Safran 4.0 Stream leaders
- Vendors and technology partners
- Proven experience in data science, generative AI, RAG technologies and proficiency in identifying and developing key technological competencies (e.g., UX design, data science, DEVOPS, cloud architectures, AWS).
- Extensive expertise in Agile project management.
- Knowledge of aerospace, space, and defense industries
- Transversal leadership, communication and project initiation skills.
- BusDev experience including successful new business.
- Fluent in French & English. Experienced in working with international teams and managing cross-functional projects.
- Ability to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
